May 4th Visitor Center
2013 - Kent, Ohio
Kent State University's new visitor center features a tribute film to the students who were killed and wounded by National Guard on May 4th 1970. The film revisits the day from the students' perspective with rare archival footage of the campus protests against America’s growing involvement in the Vietnam war, and the inexplicable use of deadly force against them to suppress their 1st amendment rights.
The film won a 2013 CINE Special Jury Awards for Best Production and also a 2013 CINE Golden Eagle Award.
International Spy Museum
2019 - Washington, D.C.
The International Spy Museum presents visitors with a plethora of real-life spy stories. This mini-theater film that uncovers the psychological nature of a Spy and Spy-handler relationship through the dramatic story of a Palestinian informant (Mosab) and his Israeli agent handler (Gonen). Their riveting account illuminates their dangerous work together to disrupt the cycle of violence and prevent terrorist acts in Gaza and how their heroic collaboration led to a transcendent relationship of mutual respect and friendship that survives to this day. This film won two 2020 Telly Awards in the non-broadcast category for Directing (Silver) and History (Bronze).
GRAMMY Museum - Mississippi
2016 - Cleveland, MS
The GRAMMY Museum in Cleveland, Mississippi is a celebration of all Mississippi born music and the musicians who contributed to America's musical heritage across genres including Jazz, Blues, Gospel, Country, and Rock-n-Roll.
I was featured on an NPR radio interview to help explain how this interactive multimedia table provides visitors with a unique way to "wade in the waters" to explore and enjoy the musical legacy of the Mississippi Delta.
Benjamin Franklin Memorial
2010 - Philadelphia, PA
The Benjamin Franklin National Memorial Rotunda comes to life periodically with a vibrant 3D animated homage to Ben Franklin’s "purposeful life" of creativity and service. This immersive program is projected across four 20-foot tall screens to illuminate the connection of his legacy of natural curiosity, discovery, invention, and our modern world. This multimedia installation won the American Alliance of Museums (AAM) Bronze Muse Award in 2010.
GRAMMY Museum - LA Live
2008 - Los Angeles, CA
The “Life of a Recording” film takes a behind the scenes look at the creative process of several Album of the Year award winning artist. This film featured jazz great Herbie Hancock
explaining his ground breaking record, “River: The Joni Letters,” based on Joni Mitchell's music. The film won both a 2009 CINE Golden Eagle Award and a Silver Telly Award. My interview with Joni Mitchell was included in music journalist Susan Whitall's book "Joni on Joni"in 2018.
